GREENSBORO - The funeral will be Saturday for Cecil C. Midgett, 69, 704 Meadowood Road, who died Monday (Aug. 21, 2000) at Moses Cone Hospital after several weeks of declining health. Born May 14, 1931, in Columbia, N.C., Mr. Midgett was a son of the late Glenn Riddick and Gladys Midgett and stepson of the late Allie Riddick. He was educated in Columbia schools and was a graduate of Terrell County High School. Mr. Midgett retired as a truck driver from Kahn Lumber Co., Queens, N.Y., and was a residential counselor at Bennett Family Care in Greensboro. A former area resident, he was a member of Third Creek AME Zion Church, Cleveland, the Men’s Booster Club and Class No. 2. He was a Mason and a member of Order of Elks while a resident of New York and an avid bowler in a Greensboro bowling league. Survivors include wife Dorothy Hall Midgett; sons Alphonso Midgett, Harvest, Ala., Ronnie Midgett, Bowie, Md., Cecil Midgett Jr., Silver Springs, Md., Boris Midgett, Portsmouth, Va., Anthony Midgett, Atlanta, Ga., and Henry Lee Midgett, St. Louis, Mo.; daughters Lisa Midgett, Charlotte, Cecilia Midgett-Jordan, Glen Burnie, Md., and LaBarbara Midgett, Texas; stepson Emery Partee IV, Brooklyn, N.Y.; stepdaughter Cynthia Partee, Jamaica, N.Y.; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
