Besides his parents and wife, he is survived by one daughter, BETSY SUTHERLAND GRIFFITH of Richmond, VA; two sons, MICHAEL ELMER MIDGETT of Richmond and ELMER V. MIDGETT III of Bermuda; one brother, EDWARD F. MIDGETT of Cape Coral, FL.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held in Twiford Funeral Home, Ghent Chapel, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 1, 1994, with the Rev. ALAN G. REIFSNYDER officiating. Burial will be in the Midgett Family Cemetery in Rodanthe, NC., at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral Home Sunday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. At other times, the family will be at the residence in the Thoroughgood Estates in Virginia Beach. Twiford Funeral Home, Ghent Chapel, Norfolk, is in charge of arrangements. Masonic rites and Coast Guard honors will be at the grave side.
