Reams was on the faculty of Maury High School for 31 years. He retired in June of 1950. He was Justice of the Peace for 23 years in the Western Branch District of Norfolk County. A native of Richmond, he was the son of the late HORACE A. and Mrs. WILLIE LOVE REAMS and has lived in this section for 50 years. Besides his wife, Reams is survived by 3 sisters, Mrs. O.H. MARKHAM, Mrs. AGNES TIMBERLAKE, Mrs. LOVE MOSELY, all of Richmond. Reams was a member of the West Norfolk Methodist Church and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 898. The body was taken to Snellings Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held Saturday, January 3, 1953 at 2:00 pm. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery.

He was an exceptionally bright youth and displayed remarkable talents, particularly as a youthful artist early in life. Under these circumstances, his death came as a sad blow to his parents. Funeral service at the above residence Monday, December 10, 1906 at 3:00 pm. Friends and acquaintances are respectfully invited to attend. Rev W.F. WATSON, pastor of the South Street Baptist Church, conducted the service, after which the remains were conveyed to the Oak Grove Cemetery, where interment took place. Several out of town guests have arrived in the city to attend. Principal among them are: Mr. and Mrs. Eldred Tucker of Seattle, Washington and Mrs. L.K. Norton of Washington, DC.

Mr. and Mrs. Norborne Bacot and Master Marshall Bacot of Statesboro, Georgia have arrived in the city to attend the Reed-Bacot marriage Saturday afternoon, October 20, 1906.

Miss Florence de Succure Bacot and Washington Reed, brother of J. Davis Reed, Mayor of Portsmouth, were married Saturday, October 20, 1906 at 5:30 pm in Trinity Protestant Episcopal Church by the Rev Arthur C. Thomson, rector. The church was decorated with white chrysanthemums. The chancel was vested in white and gold hangings. Simplicity marked the decorations. The bride wore white crepe de chine, made princess with corsage trimmed with duchesses lace. Her tulle veil was caught with sprays of lilies of the valley. Her bouquet was of lilies, tied with gauze ribbon. She entered the church on the arm of her brother, Norborne Bacot of Statesboro, Georgia. Miss Rosalie Bacot, sister of the bride, was attired in white radium silk, fashioned with valenciennes lace. She carried a bunch of white chrysanthemums. Miss Esther Reed, sister of the groom and Miss Rebecca Coke Nash, wore similar costumes, but carried yellow chrysanthemums. William H.M. Reed, brother of the groom, was best man, while the following were the ushers: O. Emerson Smith, Dr. Alec Hatton, Dr. Joseph Grice and Mayor J. Davis Reed. After the ceremony, the bridal party and the immediate families of the contracting parties went to the home of the bride to extend congratulations to the newly wedded couple. The bride then changed her wedding attire to tailor suit of blue cloth and the couple left for a northern trip. Washington Reed is the son of the late Washington Reed and Mrs. Octavia Reed. Among the out of town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Norborne Bacot of Statesboro, Georgia, Mr. and Mrs. Eldred Tucker of Seattle, Washington, Mrs. L.K. Norton of Washington, DC and Mrs. John Dayton of Annapolis.
