A native of Jasper County, Ill, she lived here 21 years. She was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church, Chamblissburg, VA She is survived by 4 daughters, Mrs. MAYON A. COX and Mrs. VIOLA A. LAW of Norfolk and Mrs. LEAH A. VAUGHAN and Mrs. B.W. HARRIS of Roanoke; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and 19 great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Tuesday, October 11, 1966 at 11:00 am by the Rev JAMES G. WOMBLE of Ingleside Baptist Church. Richmond, Virginia, October 12 - Miss Daisy Alvis is a bride of State Fair Week. She came to this city from Powhatan County Wednesday, October 10, 1906 to wed Leonard L. Benson, a Canadian, who met her upon her arrival at the Main Street Station of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway. The ceremony was performed by the Rev Mr. G.H. Spooner, pastor of the Broad Street Methodist Church. The bride was accompanied to this city by Miss Myrtle Alvis. Mr. Benson is at present, a prominent citizen of Henrico and has a host of friends in the vicinity of Brook Hill, where he lives. He has traveled a great deal having visited many sections of this country as well as Ontario, Canada, the home of his boyhood. The bridegroom was accompanied by his friend and neighbor, John W. Higginson. The proposed bridal tour to the Natural Bridge, Luray and Weyer's Caves and other points of interest in the valley of Virginia will be postponed until after the state fair.

Virginia Beach - Age 43, of the 5200 block of Middlesborough Court, died Thursday, February 1, 1996 in a Norfolk hospital. She was a registered nurse, worked for Sentara Norfolk General. She was a native of Zamboanga City, Philippines. She was a member of Catholic Church of St Mark. Survivors include her husband, JESSIE AMBULO; 3 sons, JESSIE AMBULO Junior, JONATHAN AMBULO and JEREMY AMBULO, all of Virginia Beach; her mother, PURISIMA LAMPA of Zamboanga; 2 sisters, PERLA and her husband, ELMER ABARICO of Missouri and JUN BAES of Zamboanga; 2 brothers, WILFREDO LAMPA and his wife, DOLLY, of New Jersey, ALFREDO LAMPA and his wife, JINN, of Zamboanga; nieces and nephews, MELISA LAMPA and EMILY LAMPA, JUN ABARICO, KIM BAES, KAISER BAES and KATE BAES, GIRLIE LAMPA, OLIVE LAMPA, JADE LAMPA and APRIL LAMPA HINOLA; and a cousin, JEORGE LIM of New York City. A mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 4, 1996 at Catholic Church of St Mark by Father DANIEL KLEM. Burial will be in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday, February 2, 1996. There will be a Christian Wake Service held at the church at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 1996. A prayer service will be held at 10:00 am Monday, February 5, 1996 at the church with a procession to the cemetery to follow.
